The Board of Directors rescinded the Conserve Water Policy and Tiered Rates are listed below Approved and Adopted 9-9-25
Monthly Charges:
Base Rate $65.00
Back-flow Valve Fee $3.50
Tiered Water Rates effective 8-24-25
Tier 1 zero- 5,000 gallons = $.013 per gallon
Tier 2 5,001 – 10,000 gallons = $.020 per gallon
Tier 3 10,001 gallons and up = $.027 per gallon

How it works:​

Usage is categorized: The total usage is divided into the defined tiers.

Each tier is priced differently: The price per unit of water (e.g., per gallon) increases with each tier.

The bill is calculated: The cost for each tier is calculated separately and then added together to get the total water bill.

Payment is due by the 25th of each month ​
Past Due Charges: Applied to next month's bill, if not received
by the 25th, a 10% penalty of all unpaid balances due will be charged.
Deposits:
New Service - Property Owner* $225
New Service - Renter* $150
New Meter Installation: Base Cost $6000 (currently a waitlist exists)

In March we implemented a new billing program, and it allows you to create an account to pay your bill online, even autopay if you like.
​
Please know that the credit card processing fee is 3.5% per transaction with a $2 minimum. ACH fees are $1.95 per transaction up to $150 and $2.45 per transaction between $150.01 -$2,500 and it goes up from there.

Buell Red Prairie Water District (BRPWD) has implemented TextMyGov, a convenient and smart text messaging service! This service will enable residents to effortlessly receive important notifications by texting BRPWD ALERTS (lower case also acceptable) to 91896.

After sending the initial keyword, you will be asked to reply “YES” to confirm opt-in. There is also an icon of TextMyGov on this website.
Notification of water outages will continue to be posted on our website brpwater.com and on Facebook.

KEEP YOUR WATER METER ACCESSIBLE
​
Please trim bushes, trees, and grass that block the way or cover the meter. Unlock your gate if your meter is located behind a locked gate, or provide a key to our District office. We must have easy access to the meter, without our staff having to climb a fence or push through bushes. We usually read meters between the 20th and 24th of each month.

Buell Red Prairie is a small, rural water district. We were founded as a community water district way back in the 1970s, and we continue to rely on the community to help run the district. Our board and special committee members volunteer their time to provide safe drinking water to rural residential customers.
